jjnicholascolwill Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Hello there, This is my first post here so i'm a little scarred. I have been browsing different forums and no one really gives any help on this subject. I am wanting to start making my own themes, eg Login, Register, Overall Game theme. But i have NO idea how to code it all together ect. Does anyone have a tutorial or something like that, that i could follow to make a basic one just to get to grips of things. Also i am aiming to make these themes for MCCodes v2 and v1 and then move onto different engines when i become more experienced. I consider my self to have pretty good photoshop and Fireworks skills. Please can someone help me with this, Thank you so much :) Quote
a_bertrand Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Well first of all welcome to the board and please show us some of your work ;) For the pages, you must slice out your PSD / Firework template and create a static HTML out of it. Once you have that running you can check what the current template use as PHP code in it and put the code into your HTML. Quote
Danny696 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Ugh, I'm not copying that name, but yeh, dont be scared, I've changed ;) I'd quite like to see your work. Alain has it covered today, but theres plenty of tuts on places like youtube, and the golden oldy google. That's just for slicing though. Quote
Djkanna Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Hope these help; http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts/71-building-a-website-photoshop-mockup/ http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts/72-building-a-website-2-of-3-htmlcss-conversion/ Those cover creating a design then the html/css coding up the design. If needed the third part covers making that template into a Wordpress template. http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts/73-wordpress-theme/ May give you a rough idea / pointers. :) Also if you have no or limited knowledge in HTML/CSS this one may help http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts/58-html-css-the-very-basics/ Quote
