Blade Maker Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I would like to start making money advertising peoples games, but I need to learn more about advertising, is there any website or anyone who would teach me how to advertise? Quote
Curt Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 lol....I believe a_bertrand wrote a nice topic about Free advertising methods... I think banner advertising methods are probably the best to use....but im not the best with advertising either...lol Good luck going this route :) BTW advertising on other games makes the game you are advertising look bad...so try to stay away from that route... a_bertrand Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 That's the tutorial Curt is referring to: http://engine.nowhere-else.org/article_3.html BTW Marketing is way not a simple task and will take you a lot of time to do it right. Also as any other thing it takes a lot of time to learn ;) Quote
UltraWebGames Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 The best thing to do is the next time you are at a large book store, look in the business section, and look for advertising books. The last time I was at barns and noble there was at least ten books on the subject. Quote
dibuk Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Barnes & Nobles would be fit to learn knowledge on by books. Google in the other hand is by internet. :) Quote
BrowserGamesFactory Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 We changed ad methods recently Lets say be inventive and one of the first to reap benefits. Recently we 'funded' a movie as some other projects. Results have yet to be seen but for us it's a new playground that is relative cheap. So I suggest to check out http://www.kickstarter.com/ Some of the projects we helped funding and we will eventually see the benefits (hopefully, see it as low cost long term advertising) http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2024077040/neil-gaimans-the-price Listed as Associate Producer can't be bad on a movie , not everyone walks away when the movie is over ... some do read all the stuff afterwards http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1163482373/gameful-a-secret-hq-for-worldchanging-game-develop Quote
BrowserGamesFactory Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 as a update the movie kickstarter project reached CNN http://edition.cnn.com/2010/TECH/web/11/29/kickstarter.gaiman.biggest/index.html Such exposure is already super and pretty sure that the lil bit of funding will be worth it.
