Sunchaser Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Hi there, I would like to share some information on a game that my friends and I are working on. We are on the lookout for people willing to help us improve our game, so your contribution/s will be most welcome. Your feedback to improve this site will be immensely appreciated and can be posted here or on our forum (see address below). Project Name Medieval Europe Brief Description Medieval Europe is set in Medieval Europe (circa 1450). It’s an historical game in which players will experience the day to day, political and religious aspects of life in the Middle Ages. The European map will consist of a neutral network; where the Nodes will be the cities or Towns. Each town or city will include buildings/structures (such as Castles, Harbours, Courts, Royal Palaces etc...) City and towns will belong to a Kingdom. The Kingdom will be ruled by a King, Prince, Duke, Doge (depending on the Kingdom type). The Regnant will be able to appoint Vassals and Consuls, that will be in charge for a city or town. Some of the task of Consuls and Vassals will be to set taxes, write and enforce laws and appoint a Sheriff, Magistrate etc... The Objective of the Monarch/Regnant & Kingdom is to make the Kingdom stronger and superior to other kingdoms (e.g. going for war/s) Peasants will be able to seed a terrain or take different professions in order to increase their wealth and try to make a career either in Politics or in the Church. Game will be played/managed by ingame-mechanics and by forum discussions. The players who have a role (Vassal, Magistrate, etc... ), will be able to propose and make laws, corrupt other players, plot to overthrow the king etc... Target Aim Free to play; There will be premium accounts and/or buyable in-game bonuses. srachit Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Game forge released a game about a month back on the same concept, but if you do what your saying in this game I am sure it can surpass that game also. This game of yours sounds fantastic and fun to play. Just a few questions: 1) Will there be a military and war aspect to the game 2) Will there be a clan/guild system 3) You say that your looking for people to help you improve the game, is this payed work or just suggestions 4) Can you please translate the game link you have provided 5) You say you have a 3D artist with you, so is this a 3D game or a browser based rpg like torn.com or something Thats all for now ;) Quote
Sunchaser Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Yep i Know about Gameforce game. I think it is called Europe 1400. I registered and seems a nice game, although seems a bit overhelming. I don't think we can compete with GameForce, we are two guys and this is our first game. We would like to make a simple game with but that will leave freedom to players to find the best tactics to survive and manage a kingdom. We will implement some rules but then the 'history' will be made by the players. Just a few questions: 1) Will there be a military and war aspect to the game Yes. With this release it's possible to raid a city. If the attackers win, some coins will be taken by every structure and every players that happen to be in the city at the time of the raid. In future it will be possible to siege a city and include it in the attacker kingdom. Our plans include also the possibility to be a mercenary or to lead a mercenary army. 2) Will there be a clan/guild system At the moment we don't have considered building a clan/guild system, the city and the kingdoms already works as an organization. In the future we can consider a way to create alternative religions/sects. 3) You say that your looking for people to help you improve the game, is this payed work or just suggestions Now we are asking for free collaboration without any commitment, as this is an 'indie' project. If the game will reach a stage where it starts to make profit in a consistent way we can think about paid jobs or a revenue sharing. As you probably know, it is a very difficult task to make profit for a game due to the high competition, so i don't want to promise things i cannot deliver. If any game owner is interested, i can exchange some testing hours. If he help test/improve the game, i can help him with his. 4) Can you please translate the game link you have provided I don't understand the question. If you mean the game should be translated, just click the english flag on the top of the game screen. 5) You say you have a 3D artist with you, so is this a 3D game or a browser based rpg like torn.com or something It is a pbbg hystorical text game. It could resemble Europe 1400, or Renaissance Kingdoms. Our 3d artist friend designs 3d structures and items, sorry for the confusion, i will correct the initial entry. Quote
srachit Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 That clears up a lot :) Game sounds amazing cant wait for it :) And sorry about the confusion, I didnt see the english flag :( Quote
Zero-Affect Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 that map reminds me of the board game "Risk", website looks amazing good job. Quote
Sunchaser Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 thanks, the map is just an example. The actual map in the game it's another (and we should work a lot on it :) ) Quote
Sunchaser Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 Just an update. Last week we opened Beta, atm we have 300 registered users, almost all in Italy. We are searching people that will want to try to become King and organize other Europe Kingdoms. Quote
mdshare Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Europe 1400 by gameforge is a browser revamp of the famous guild 1400 pc game. Anyway medieval based games have a large audience so success is possible especially if they are ran different than GameForge which is a 'Pay to Win concept' , so if there is real competition without the get to the top easy ...
