Uridium Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Almost every game created using mcc has some sort of gang or another but what about those poor souls that join the game and are sided out cos of their ability... So my suggestion is if the game is for everyone why not create something as a subgame for the less fortunate to take part in. Quote
Uridium Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 so here my idea.. Admin creates 4 new groups or how ever many they want.. For instance im going to use rivers in the UK,, Swale, Wharfe, Aire, Nidd When a new users registers than are randomly selected for one of the above groups,,, They stay with that group for the duration of game play.. The idea is that any attack wins from anyone in the group then that group gains points, This will be a team effort... Quote
Dominion Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 not a bad idea so kind of like a class eg vampire however rather then getting things for being a vampire you get a big team to help you with game play ? thing is people will still keep packs etc to them selfs so may not change the players ranks over all Quote
Paddy Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Ive seen this on a game already and works great... go for it!! Quote
Uridium Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Its just an idea to get everyone on your game to stay playing longer and have some reason to play whilst they level up better to be able to join Gangs... Ive been working with and watching mcc long enough to Realise that its boring as hell and can be daunting on new members few more ideas.. 1 = new user is assigned a level 5 protector for first 2 weeks of game if the protector fails to protect the new user then they are deducted 10 protection points. ( HOWEVER ) if new user fails to login to game after 72 hours then the protector is released from their protection duties for this player... Quote
Agon Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 turf Maybe make it like a turf thing too. Like make the groups North East South West. Mark different cities with this option. Give that user a bonus if they are fighting in their own turf. Have turf wars, where the highest scoring team for the week gets an experience boost for 7days. Give players the option to have a one time menu to choose turf. Just throwing it out there. Your idea inspired this one. Thanks! Quote
gurpreet Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Wow mate, that is a really good idea :) However, what would you do about existing members, and inactive members? Would you just make 5 groups, and then say if laston was over 50 days, they are moved to the 'inactive' group, or 'neutral' group? Quote
Uridium Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 That can be done also. Regards exsisting members a Link in loggedin will remedy that and will place them into a random group when they next login. Quote

Wow that's really clever :P How about if you add an 'active' field, and if they have logged in in the last 30 days, their active = 1, if not then it's 0. Added into cron_day of course. About the actual group bit: How would you go about doing it? I have a theory but 1) Might not work 2) Won't be effective. Here's what i propose for the register part. A select query for the groups You're unable to view this code. Viewing code within this forum requires registration, you can register here for free. As I said, not very efficient and may not work properly, but theres the basic idea I guess Quote
Agon Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 This also could be done with different character classes too. If warrior, area=so and so. If magic user, area=so and so. Quote
