mdshare Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I've always been a fan to see the status of a website, yet in this browsergame world not many use those. Here is a list of types I'm aware of. Standard development status types: dev - Dev or pre-Alpha-Versions are used to present more or less working features. These versions are usually intended for developers and for test cases only. alpha - Alpha versions are the first test versions for public audience and contain the very basic features. As alpha versions usually contain a lot of errors they are not suited for productive systems. beta - Beta Versions are unfinished versions which contain most of the features but are not tested yet. These versions may still contain severe errors so productive use is not recommeneded. RC - Release Candidates are final test versions. The versions contain all features of the final versions. The intention is final testing and the elemination of all remaining bugs. Quote
a_bertrand Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 there is a "prototype" first normally, or also "tech preview". However in web games, generally, a game is never finished, until he dies. So those standard states don't reflect very well the current status. Quote
reek13 Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 havent really seen anyone with that on there game Quote
a_bertrand Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Prototypes and tech preview are normally only for internal use. That's why you don't normally see them ;-) Quote
