MrGi Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I look around, Reading the codes posted. Page after page, update after update. Change a name and call it yours. change a variable and act like you owned it. Cmon people.. There is about 50 re-makes of every fricken thing thats on here. Cant you newb coders act like you know something and code some pure orginal rather than changing a couple of lines from someone elses and call it yours? CE is here for various mods, Not 50 of the same one over and over and over again. You all think you can code because you can change a variable or a couple of words. GET FRICKEN REAL. I can almost garuntee that 75% of you guys on CE cannot code a lick. Probally been coding for a couple of days and think you guys are big shit now. When I see that new people auctally post new mods, and I can see that the newbs can really code...Then i just might change my mind. Even though i dont post on here, I know i can code, and many others do to. I see people posting on here that I taught how to code. Or the basics. Cough cough Silent Assisanitor....Karlos.... Any comments? Have at it... Open topic, Say as you wish.. Quote
bling Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? I feel the same way that is was i don't post mods on here just help some times lmao but in a way its funny to see 10 of the same mods but only have like a few simple {$ir['somethings']} added to it and bang a new version as been made lol but wouldn't that just be edit to and to top it off most of the time they just take off the credits from the top and say its theirs and that they made it but this i why only a few real coders post anything on here all the stealing of code and here say Quote
jds137 Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? Lets not forget to mention all the games who took the source codes, changed a thing or 2 and are selling them as their own... *****cough**raven*****cough***** All this makes me wonder will we ever see anything new and exciting? I have stuff I could add, but then some smart ass would claim it as theirs , and hack my site. Lets remember lots of people are back stabbing ..... . Quote
Eternal Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? So you post a hate thread about people posting updates of already made mods and that... This is the First time i see yours and blings name in this forum. Where is your superficial mods???? Instead of being a retard Why don't you post something of Cause? If people posted all their own mods then What is the point on learning how to code.. Just come on CE and Get what ever you need. Quote
Uridium Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? I gotta say ;) i havent seen a site yet that comes close to what CE has achieved be it a free or paid mod.. I personally like the idea of remakes from the same scripts added over and over gives you the opportunity to mix n match. an example of my scripts is that they are ALL related to one sort of a script already done by MCC The staff_users script has to be one of the most re-modded scripts on here. Karlos Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? Any reason to say my name? (No offence intended) Quote
Jeff Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? Well i don't think its that bad if you look at CE as a whole, yes some things get repeated but there often improved in the repeat, ok not everyone is a top web designer / programmer but think back to when you started. Although there are a few that do as you said i don't think its as many by a long way and at least allot of them are trying and trying giving back not just taking. With the example you gave as Karlos, i've seen some of his work (not all but some) and them few have often been good and hes always wanting to improve is work and learn from my experiences from him. I'd think thats the sort of person you would like to be in the CE community. But when it comes to the people that clearly re-sell on other people mods and things they have not made i think the CE community could and should do more, im sure you know a people that do or have done that. Karlos Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? Well thanks Jeff. Well i always do try to learn more and more each day and work out why it helps or put's a disadvantage over other piece's of code. I like to try and give stuff back to the community as i do on here and PHP-Forums. I shall admit that i do get stuff at times and i like to ask who to fix it and sometimes on how to aviod it in the future. I also like to help others out so they can progress and i feel like i achieved something by helping someone else do better. Quote
AlabamaHit Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 Re: So many of one? I would agree. there are a few on here that does not want to learn...I would Not put Karlos in that category...... Look around on here. Karlos Ask what is better....like what I mean is he/she ask how to improve their self. He/she does NOT just ask for a code to be fixed, or the code that works...Karlos ask how to fix it...and I have noticed when someoen does Karlos does like me.... They ask why that person done what they did. So thier skillls can improve...Like I usually ask for a link so i can read up on it. and karlos seems like that kind of person to.. What does it matter if someone post the same thing over and over....If its better everytime thats a + also. like someone else said on here. Seeing more than one way to do something will help everyone in the long run cause they will see different ways to do a certain objective. So i think all the post is not pointless.... Now if the post is the exact same....yeah of course thats point less. Quote
Faz` Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Re: So many of one? I agree with illusions, its good if mods are taken and improved, most of the people here don't just add something to it and claim its theirs, they would look at the code, and see how they could build on it/ improve it. I am currently learning, and am using some mods to refer to, that does help in a way. Quote
