  2. Re: Two questions regarding attacking No worries guys :) A simple move, and the problem is fixed. Typically, anything at all to do with mccodes 1, 2, or lite has it's own little area and isn't part of the general coding area to answer your questions... 1) add a counter variable - I think it already has one in it, doesn't it display the attack number to the screen, like this: 1. Bob hit Joe for 1 damage 2. Joe tried to hit bob but missed 3. Bob hit Joe again. 4. Joe missed again. Find out what that variable in the front is, and somewhere near the top of your script add a check. if($thatNUMBERvariable > 100) { die("Stalemate."); } 2)yes. Not sure where the code is, but you would change where it says $expgain = rand(1,100) -- or something like that TO $expgain = $ir['exp_needed']/10; -- would give them 10 percent

  5. Re: Texas Hold 'Em Mod   still coming along. I've finished most of the gameplay, have a few touchups, then gonna spend a day or two optimizing everything as best I can. I'd say (rough idea) 2 more weeks till release. Yes, it's taken quite awhile... but once you see this mod in it's completed form, you'll see why it took so long :D
  6. Re: Here Some Joke This thread... makes me wanna cry.
  7. Re: What is the greatest threat to mankind? When I first saw this question, my first thought was "apathy"... however I think l1's answer has some insight to it as well

  17. Re: How Can I Make It So When Someone Presses F5 It Goes To news.php............ An alternative would be to set your domain as a masked forward, so no matter where they go the domain would always be "yourgame.com" and if they ever hit f5, it would take them to the index.
  18. Re: How Can I Make It So When Someone Presses F5 It Goes To news.php............ if( referring url==current url) meta refresh content index.php

  21. Re: In game forums for sale Ok, unfortunately I didn't keep a list of everyone who bought this mod... All who bought it already can email me at [email protected] I will send you an updated version of the forums (for free of course)
  22. Re: In game forums for sale   Sorry for the delay in response; college is a hassle. School is getting in the way of my coding time *winks* I would like to say it is not sql injectable. Since I coded it, it is pretty well sanitized. I will go back through it right now (as I have some spare time) and ensure everything is sanitized and all sql injections are blocked.
  23. Re: When is it ok to lie?   I don't think anyone can possibly know that question. I for one can't think of a response, as I've spent 30 minutes just thinking about it. I'll edit/post when I can think of one. :) Excellent. It's a tough question, one I've mulled over for a long time myself.   Well what kind of relationship may I ask? Eg. Business, friend, family, love, spiritual? Once I know that I think I may be able to answer. Any type, or all types. Take your pick :)   Also depends which kind of relationship. A spiritual relationship with you and your, lets say God, must be one without sin nor lie. Practise what you preach. I imagine it would be kinda counterproductive to lie to an omniscient (all-knowing) God, mmhmm. Indeed though, I agree there. I would like to expand my question: What degree of lies should relationships have, such as those with your wife, parents, brothers, friends, and enemies?   I agree, your posts are thought-provoking   Yup. Anything that is not conveying the 100% truth is a lie. I find using extremes here is the easiest way to go. I hate terms like half-truths or white lies.   I cannot speak from another religion's perspective - however, from Christianity, lies are sometimes acceptable, when you are doing God's work. I believe it was Rahab (I may be wrong) who lied to the authorities in Canaan, and hid two spies in her house, allowing them to escape and (eventually) bring Israel in. As well - in 2 Chronicles Chapter 18 God brought lying spirits onto the 'prophets' of the king, enticing him to go into battle and fail.   So perhaps a lie according to accomplish God's will is justified? (The trick would be figuring put what lies are according to his will)   I don't believe we can. I think humans have to lie, to protect ourselves and others. For self gain, and to help others. Also, we may lie and not realise it. And generally, lies for self-gain are looked upon badly, while lies to help others are deemed ok - the problem being that lies to help others often harm them :(   That depends on the type of people that are in the relationship. If both partners argue, then go out and cheat on each other, but come back feel refreshed, and more in love with each other than ever, because they have both had a bit of freedom, the lie could grow worse with age, it could destroy what they have before it has chance to blossom into marriage and children or, it they could both confese (sorry for spelling) and live very ahppy lies, finally, it could never be mentioned, and eat away at them, but whilst they live there lives, full of love and passion. You had a key phrase in there... "eat away at them". Lies do that, almost inevitably. Why? Humans have a moral conscience that makes them feel guilty when they lie...   Would England (for example) be a better place if we all knew exactly what was going on, all the time? Wouldn't there be more riots? And most probably alot more issues to sort out. Where as if we don't know about it untill it's been sorted out, we might be annoyed, but we can't say anything has changed, so why should we make a huge fuss? Where as hiding things on a level such as a relationship (as I said above) can have many roads, and only of which one can lead really lead to happiness, the truth, and the will to forgive those that are truly sorry. Here is a double edged sword... while some people love the freedom of knowing everything going on with their country (such as in America), terrorists or enemies also know what goes on - it's easy enough for them to turn on a TV and watch the news. In closed countries, such as a dictatorship, enemies have no idea what is being planned, but then neither do the people. Where is the balance? Perhaps governments should be entrusted with keeping some things from the people, in order to ensure their effectiveness, but still have enough safeguards to ensure no one goes power crazy. Alas, I feel I just described a non-existent utopia
  24. Re: Supernatural?   And the greatest of these is love ;)   If there was proof, faith wouldn't be required. If you hear coins jingle in my pocket, you 'have faith' I have coins in my pocket. If I take them out and show them to you, no more faith is required, it is a simple fact now, and requires no effort on your part. Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and rewards those who seek him." True. However, a Christian would argue that it is inspired (meaning the thoughts in the bible were given to the authors) by the Holy Spirit part of the Trinity. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."   You speak the truth. Many bad things have been done under the "flag"/name of christianity. Take a look at the inquisition. However, what you said also doesn't perfectly apply here. While it's true that left to their own devices, human beings may not understand certain things pertaining to the scriptures or the nature of God, revelation through his Holy Spirit (read that as Divine revelation if you will) can certainly help people to understand, correct? John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." There are many things that people could not explain, and ascribed (or credited) to gods, from the sun, to photosynthesis. You're statement is true, to a degree.   My girlfriend has had several experiences with ghosts... I may get into that later, depending what direction this thread goes in. You may be right Ferdi.   Love was Jesus' message :) I'd be interested in hearing more about reiki, if you'd be willing to share.   I would imagine that witchcraft existed since almost the dawn of mankind. Also... few to no historians debate Jesus was born. It's more or less agreed upon by secular and religious historians alike. The difference is when Jesus' status as the Son of God comes into play (not arguing you here, just stating something)   Exactly :)   Now guys, I'm not attempting to put down your beliefs (or if athiest, lack thereof), but am just trying to better understand them. Don't take anything to offense, or as a challenge, I'm just yearning for a better understanding. With that said, if you have an issue with something I posted, feel free to pm me or post here about it and I'll remove it. :)
  25. Does a Supernatural Deity exist? Why or why not?   RULES: Respect other people's opinions. DO NOT attack other people, rather reply to their post in a dignified, orderly way, addressing (or rebutting) their points. I WILL edit posts that I deem inflammatory. If this gets out of hand, I'll delete the thread. I would just like to hear people's reasons for believing or not believing in a supernatural being.
