Advanced Dogtags Mod [$10] Great for Contests and User Involvement!
Arson replied to Arson's topic in Paid Modifications
That's strange, $db->free_result() is a function that comes with the engine, and is used in the other attack_mug/hosp/etc files in the exact same manner. I actually gutted one of them and kept the basic calls to user data and gang respect queries in tact, which is why the $db->free_result() function is even being used in one of my mods lol.. On that note I haven't had any errors with it in my development environment (v2.0.4). On another note I can't see any real reason to even have that line in there in the first place. If you take those two lines: $r = $db->fetch_row($od); $db->free_result($od); And replace them with this: $r = mysql_fetch_array($od); Not everyone should have to do that, I am imagining its probably a breaking change they made between 2.0.4 and 2.5 (assuming youre running 2.5?). Regardless, I will get the files on MCCodeMods updated with this fix as soon as I get a hold of Cronus. -
Advanced Dogtags Mod [$10] Great for Contests and User Involvement!

Thanks I'm glad you like it :) There's more where that came from ;) -
Dogtags with Goals & Rewards This is one of my most customizable mods to date. It is not to be confused with the usual "Dog Tags" systems you see. While similar, it is definitely not the same. The concept is simple, players attack other players, and depending on your settings, gives them the option of stealing a "dog tag" upon defeating a player. Here's what you can do in the extensive staff panel: Change any of the language (words shown to the players) within the mod, as well as the label for dog tags. You can call them scalps, fingers, ears, dog tags, paperclips, whatever. Set how frequently you want players to be able to steal other players' tags. Create/Delete Goals for Players to achieve and receive rewards Turn on/off the modification entirely, for seasonal use. Turn on/off experience gains when stealing dog tags If the player reaches any of the goals set by you, they receive an event and the reward you set for that goal. This mod is an excellent way to get your players active and involved in the game. The price for this mod is a cheap $10 As with all my mods this includes full support and updates for life. View Screenshots and Purchase this Mod through WebGameMods.com Alternatively, if you have an MCCodeMods account you can purchase my Dogtags with Goals & Rewards Mod through there.

Please shoot me a PM with a way to get ahold of you. Preferably via MSN messenger. I fixed a few bugs as DeatH_RiderR said, and I need to get you the updated files asap. The MccodeMods.com files are already updated so no worries for those of you that haven't yet purchased the mod. -
New Worlds Engine Developer version available!
Arson replied to a_bertrand's topic in New Worlds Engine
No offence, as Im sure your engine is skillfully crafted, but 6,000 lines of code for an entire engine (i know 10k for full version but still) thats not very much. Not for an engine. If anything you should be boasting that it has "only" 6000 lines. Ive seen less functionality in more lines. Some mccode mods have close to 2,000 lines on their own. Just saying. -
Mag is pretty sweet. It would be nice if battlefield had more than 24 slots per server.
-
I know a coouple people like that. Spend days on end playing cod, but give up on battlefield after an hour because its "too complicated". ie they suck at battlefield and only want to play games they are already good at.
-
If people play bf3 they realize that it is COD with bigger maps, better weapons, more upgrades, and vehicles galore. I dont see how its even a contest.
-
I experience constant action when I play battlefield 3..if youre just driving/flying around aimlessly you won't. You just have to know where everything is, there are points in every map that are high traffic and there are points that are low. Like with any fps you just have to learn the map to know where people go, and where you need to go. Besides that Im talking conquest. Which is a form of capture the flag. There are a few close quarters maps out there that offer your constant run and gun action in conquest. Team Deathmatch, which is what everyone plays in cod, is comprised of all close quarters maps in Bf3. The expansion they are releasing in June is called "Close Quarters", so Im sure that will provide you with even more. Another reason I like battlefield is how teamwork oriented the game is. You can spawn on squad members, in multi seated vehicles, etc. Itd be cool to find a couple people to squad up with regularly and get a good strategy going. Ive always wanted to try my hand in a league game or two. Could win some real money.

Most of you COD players that barely give BF3 a ten minute chance before saying, "Fk this" and starting COD back up are just pissed cause you weren't instantly raping people with your COD skills. The impact prediction is slightly different, the bullets drop, recoil is more realistic. Give BF3 a real chance and you'll find you can be back to raping faces after a few hours of gameplay. Sometimes you just gotta find what you're good at. Sometimes running around like Rambo is bad in Battlefield just like it would be bad in real life.

If you have a computer that can handle it, yeah, your best bet would be the PC version. FPS's are always better with a mouse and keyboard! However my PC at the moment couldn't handle BF3, so I settled for the 360 version. Once you get use to the sticks its just as easy as the mouse and keyboard. And its SO much better for flying, which is my thing. I f***in love me some attack helicopters and jets. I don't see how anyone can say "COD is better than BF3", when BF3 has the same mechanics as COD (as far as being a ground troop anyway), with WAY BIGGER maps, and most of all vehicles. Jeeps, Tanks, 4 different Helicopters and 3 different Jets...so far. One of my biggest sources of hatred for the COD series is well, the series...I mean come on, they release a new call of duty every 6-8 months now, and since COD4 they have all been the SAME! Yeah they have new maps and new character skins, and new killstreak rewards (sometimes just differently named).. This a community of game creators, surely you see what little effort goes in to a "new" COD release. On the other hand you have Battlefield, their first game (Battlefield 1942) was in 1992 I believe. They have a good 20 years under their belt with the BF series. They take at least 5 years to release a new Battlefield game, plus they release new expansion packs (more than just map packs like cod, bf expansions have new maps, weapons, and vehicles) every 4-6 months. They've already released one bad ass pack and they are about to release another in June. Battlefield is a game of quality, skill, and strategy. Big maps make for several strategic options while the selection of vehicles offers many methods of carrying out your strategy. Coupled with the ability to choose your spawn point (you can spawn at a random spot in a base your team holds, on a squad mate, or in a team vehicle). Battlefield makes for more than just running around tiny enclosed maps seeing how many kills you can get. However, even with the big maps most of the people running around tend to congregate in one area of the map for the most part, so those of you that like mindless reflex shooters can still enjoy that aspect of the game.

This is a heavily revamped version of the Playershops(1.0) mod I created 3ish years ago. This modification gives your players the ability to open their own shop, and add items from their inventory to the shop to be sold at whatever price they set. Here is a detailed list of the features included with this mod (1.5): Player Features Item Searching - Screenshot 1 - Screenshot 2 - Players can search for items using the included search feature. The 20 best priced results are shown with links to purchase the item, and visit the shop that has the item in stock. Shop Creation - Screenshot - Any player can create a shop if they have enough money. The price is set by you, the game admin. Shop Customization - Screenshot - Shop owners can set a name, sign, and description for their shop that all visitors can see. Shop Management - Screenshot - Shop owners can change prices or remove items in the shop. Removed items are sent back to the player's inventory. Shop Til - Screenshot - Money received from purchases in the shop is stashed in the shop til. Shop owners must withdraw this before they can use the money. Shop Upgrades - Screenshot - There is a limit on how many items any shop can carry at one time. Shop owners can upgrade their shops at a price decided by you, the game admin. Shop Logs/Events - When a player purchases an item from a shop, the shop owner receives an event about the purchase, as well as an entry in the shop logs for the owner's reference. Ability to Close Shop - Players can close their shops at any time if for some reason they wish to do so. Staff Panel Features - Screenshot Set Shop Creation Pricing Method and Price - You can set the pricing method to static or dynamic. If the price is set to $1,000, and the method is static, shops will cost $1,000 each time. If the method is set to dynamic, shops will cost $1,000 times the number of shops in existence. For example if there are 5 shops, then it will cost $5,000 to create a shop. Set Shop Upgrade Pricing Method and Price - You can set the pricing method and price for this. The same rules apply for these settings as the shop creation pricing method. Set Slots received per Upgrade - Say you want the players to be able to purchase 10 item slots at a time, change this to 10. Keep in mind that you don't want to make it too easy, or it will take the fun and reward out of having a big shop. Minor Theme Options - This is nothing major, but it allows you (if desired) to set background colors for table headers as well as the odd and even numbered rows of results and tables within the mod. I have them set to what looks nice on the default mcv2 layout, you can change them to look nice with your game, or leave them blank to let your own game's theme take over. Now I am sure there are lots of you wondering what makes this different from the old version besides the new staff panel. Well, I have a list for that as well! What's New in this version: -- Reduced mod to 3 files. playershops.php, myshop.php, staff_playershops.php -- Refined the code to make it easier for other coders to find their way around and make any desired changes. -- Significantly reduced database load by optimizing query structure...I pretty much rewrote every query. -- Backwards compatibility maintained (for the most part). Those of you that have the old version should be able to upgrade just by uploading the new files and replacing the old, and changing your addtoshop.php links. -- MANY bug fixes from the old version. This version is 100% compatible with v2, and 100% secure. -- Changed shop item adding to account for quantities and give player a few options for merging items if there is already one in the shop. The old version had some issues with quantifying when an item was added/removed. These have been taken care of. I still have a few more ideas for improving this mod with future updates, and am more than happy to hear any feedback or suggestions you might have as well. Unfortunately if you own the old version of this modification I cannot cut you any more of a deal than $10 for this update. However, you will be happy to know that all future updates for this modification will be available for free to anyone that purchases this version (1.5). A few things to come in the next version (2.0): -- Staff functions for moderating shops. Ability to change names, descriptions, logos, as well as delete the shop altogether. -- Ability to set level requirement for creating a shop. -- Global shop logs for staff to monitor item trade. Will point out same IP transfers. -- Goodbye HTTP Calls for shop images. Hello image upload functions. -- Bring on the suggestions! I am always happy to improve this modification. The price for this mod is $10 payable via PayPal. To purchase, shoot me a PM. Feel free to ask any questions you may have!

You best bet for any questions about php functions is to go to PHP.net and search for the function. Each description usually comes with details and plenty of examples for you to figure things out on your own. http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.is-null.php

My twitter name is CoderKyle If you're on this forum, I figure there's a good chance we've got similar interests (text based games, web development, text based game development, php, html/css, mysql, videogames, hunting, and fishing lol) So follow me and I'll follow you!

I have a list of text based games (http://www.besttextgames.com) that is becomming evermore popular. Unlike most text game top lists, search engines are our biggest referrer. We get a lot of traffic from games that use the voting system as well (and they tend to get more traffic from us). While our search rankings continue to improve at a surprisingly rapid pace, and our traffic steadily rising, our list of games is not so big. I have decided to redouble my efforts to get more games added to my list, but this isn't so easy for one guy; It's not hard to get in touch with game owners, just tedious with as many games as there are out there these days. So what I would like to do is extend a way to make a little money for a few minutes of your time. I will pay you $0.25 via paypal for each game owner that you get to sign up and add their game. Just have them put your MWG username in the "Referrer" field at the top of the game submission form, and I will contact you for paypal details. If you intend on getting multiple referrals I can wait and pay you all at once to avoid bookoo fees, but thats up to you. How do I get in touch with game owners? It is pretty easy to find, and contact game owners. Just go to other top lists like apex or twg, etc to find the game, sign up for it, and look for the staff list. Then all you have to do is contact the owner or head admin and let them know about BestTextGames.com. Easy money! Those of you that play games will have it even easier, you already know where to go and who to mail ;) Just make sure you remind them to put your name in the referrer field! If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a private message. Good day!
