Yes indeed. That was $99 on its own. I'm not entirely sure how to transfer the license to you though unless there is an option for it through the AppThemes website.
-
No it definitely isn't as active as it once was, however it has the potential to be quite active. It has slowed down because I haven't been able to be active with it and get new games approved as regularly as I should. The site needs some work, which is why the price is negotiable. I am just trying to hand it over to someone that wants to make it the site it has the potential to be and get what I can for the work I put into it. I would start by sending out a newsletter to current members to get them back to the site. Then I would continue doing what I did to get the games that are on there already: directly contacting game owners/head admin through their game's mail system. It doesn't take long to get the traffic going for these sites. Actually I started work on a points system for game owners so that votes on their games earn them points that can be used for featured listings, highlighted listings, as well as advertisement on the site and so-on. Sadly I just don't have time for all that, however I'll gladly share all the future plans I had for the site with the buyer.
-
Sorry lol, just worried about spam bots and whatnot. As for the site, yes, the buyer will have full rights over the site and domain. Change it as you see fit, add things, remove them, all up to you. The domain is registered through GoDaddy so it will be easy to transfer. I have the site hosted on my resellers plan, so it has its own cPanel and all that. I will give the buyer full access to the cPanel after the sale is completed. From that point buyer can move the site over to his/her hosting plan or they are more than welcome to host it with me for $50/year and avoid the hassle of transferring. Long story short: Yes buyer has full rights to do as they please with the site. *edit* on top of that just to be clear I would be relinquishing all my rights to the site and content therein. I have no intention of going off to create another toplist to compete with your or anything. I just make websites for clients I meet in person these days, so I haven't got time to run any sites for myself. I feel that BTG would be better off in the hands of someone that has the time to bring it to its full potential.

(I started a new thread because the old one is well, old, and information therein irrelevant) I am putting Best Text Games up for sale! The list currently has over 100 games listed, and people are still submitting games on an almost regular basis. As far as revenue goes, the only monetizing I have done on the site is AdSense, which is miniscule at best. There are tons of spots for ads throughout the site, however I just never got around to building an ad system I'd like. I am looking to sell the site simply because I don't have the time for it and I would like to see it be put to good use! For this reason I am only asking $250 for the site, and even that is negotiable. PayPal is the only way I am able to accept payment. It might not be an option at the moment, but if your traffic ever skyrockets I would go with RackSpace.com. You aren't going to find a better dedicated hosting provider. Cronus and I used it on one of our old websites that was getting 10k+ unique visits a day and it ran like a dream. Of course we were paying like $500/month but it was worth it. Back when we used them they had hosting packages, but now it looks like they work more closely with their clients and customize the hosting to their individual needs. edit - looking closer i do see that they have a hosting package option starting at $499/mo lol

I guess I should have given everyone an update back when this happened. I had a classified listing website up on the same server as BTG and someone took it upon themselves to spam the **** out of it, so my host decided to suspend all my sites without notifying me. At the time I was working a full time job and neglecting my online ventures. Once I noticed the issue I got it resolved and my host got everything back online. The issue won't occur again, and I look forward to receiving everyone's listing. BTG is currently going strong with over 120 games listed! Don't forget to have your players vote, that's the most important thing. Visitors tend to check out games with votes as the ones without tend to get lost in the back pages.

Can you explain to me what this is exactly?
-
I managed to find one I liked through the envato network so I will be using that for the time being... I have my own template system though, so I'm definitely open to using multiple designs, that being said, keep em comin!
-
Just a little update. I got paid a couple days ago. Hope everyone else that was waiting got theirs as well!
-
Looks good so far but it doesn't strike me as a completed layout.

Your sarcasm is adorable. I just told you about the email, so that's how you are supposed to know. If you really talked to any of my "old friends" you could have gotten it off of one of them. I apologize for being so hard to get ahold of, however I am here now and willing to work with you on any further issues. Furthermore, whoever told you I don't give a f**k doesn't know what they are talking about. On that note...what Dave said...I understand your frustration with me and my past mistakes and am more than willing to help you out; However, this tangent is taking away from everyone else that CB is failing to pay.
-
Except I'm here, and willing to help you with whatever issues you are having. That's more than can be said about CB. Before selling my mods I tested them and made sure they were working on my own server. I had a friend purchase through the IPN mod to make sure it was working, and it went through. I will gladly take a look at it if you can give me more information than just "It doesn't work". Giving me no info on what it is doing it leads me to assume you just didn't install it correctly. Perhaps that isn't the case here, so please do let me know what exactly it is doing (via MSN provided below) and I will look into it and get it working for you. As far as your attempts to contact me, you went about it all wrong. PM on here - Well, now you could probably get ahold of me fairly easily via a PM on MWG, however don't count on it to be a steady method of contact. I am on this forum for a week or two, then off for months at a time. I'm just not a fan of the drama. That being said, now you know why you didn't get a response through here for so long....because I use to avoid this forum like the plague. Facebook - No thanks. I never said anyone should contact me through facebook. Email - If you emailed me at the address I think you did, you should know that I don't check that inbox. I use that address strictly for MSN Messenger. Furthermore it has been steadily online for at least 15 hours a day for the past year or so. I wish you had used MSN to contact me right away. I sincerely apologize for disappearing, but I recognize that mistake and am eager to make it up to you. If you or anyone else needs to contact me you can absolutely feel free to add me to MSN messenger at kyle_07_ AT live DOT com I do give a f**k.

Why can't CB just sit his ass down in front of a computer for 20 minutes and give us the time of day? How can someone have so little to do with their business? Does he really not give a rat's ass about his reputation? I've always been pretty favorable towards CB and Dabs, but over the years I've seen them let their people down over and over. They completely alienate and ignore the community that has put them where they are today. ColdBlooded and Dabomstew have made it abundantly clear that they don't give a damn about any of us. They got their quick buck, guess that counts for something. Tired of being strung along until they decide to throw together a new release for another quick buck.
-
Nope. I appreciate your assistance in the matter Dave, they did the right thing bringing you on board. Although I am disappointed that they couldn't take a minute to address the issue themselves. They obviously care a great deal about the MCCodes userbase.
-
The usual Gangster, Mafia, Criminal, Pimps, Drugs, or for that matter just a slick theme that would work well for a custom built game. Layout isn't too important; Although I would like something with a menu on both the left, and right sides of the page.
-
I am looking for an HTML/CSS template that suits my needs, but I don't feel like paying $200 for a custom design when it doesn't have to be something outlandish. Perhaps you created a design for someone and they didn't pay up, or you just made a few simple ones here and there for fun or practice. Whatever the case, I'd like to see them. Maybe you can make a sale.
-
That has been a long time coming, but there are enough threads highlighting that fact lol I am learning that this isn't an isolated incident (not getting paid), and at least a few other mod developers have experienced it. The fact of the matter is this: The money should be in their PayPal, because by telling us that they're only taking 10%, that leads us to believe that the other 90% is ours...they won't spend it, and it will be available to us upon request. For them to spend it is theft, plain and simple. So whats the verdict boys? Theft or Laziness? You can pay us tomorrow but the question will always remain, why are they taking SO long to pay out? Will I have to wait a month...three months....for my next withdrawal? You're good guys. The problem is that you are coders, not business managers. The MCCodes business has grown far beyond your ability to handle it. Sadly MCCodes has become a joke of the game engine community, and you are to blame. MCCodes still has the potential to be the best solution for text based games, but I don't think it is ever going to happen with you at the reigns. In all honesty I think it is time for you guys to cash out and move on. You should sell the business to someone that is actually interested in helping it grow, someone that cares about us (your customers, mod developers, theme creators, EVERYONE that has made MCCodes all that it is today). You're just letting it die. Do you really want to see everything you've built so far dwindle away into nothing? Shape up or ship out. That is all.
-
Maybe they should hire someone to manage their business if they don't have the time. They'd probably still make more because they would have a happy userbase.
-
Either they are just not at all interested in their business, or there is no money to pay us with (Ponzi anyone?). If it's the latter, then it's time for a serious morals check. Spending money that isn't yours = bad. On top of that you charge a fee. 10% is a fair fee for being able to take advantage of the pure MCCode targeted traffic that goes through the site. Extra sales you might not have made otherwise. Although the fee isn't fair when you're taking a month to pay out to people. The money should be there, since you're only taking 10% of it. You can use the excuse that college or your social life is taking up too much of your time.....but you started a BIG business, and created a market all of it's own at...15 years old? 16? If you actually focused on your business you guys would each have 6 figures in the bank by now. People go to college to move up to where you guys already are....think about that! It's not too late to turn MCCodes into the masterpiece it should have been two years ago.

So it has been at least 3 weeks now since I requested a withdrawal for a measly $27 and I haven't seen a dime of it. I sent a support ticket and thankfully Dave responded the other day: It is sad that I had to resort to a public post but after two weeks with no response from ColdBlooded (sent him a PM) I have no other recourse. Kunal if you are alive please process my payment and also explain to me why you can't pay me $27 that is supposed to be mine!! Are you spending all your developer's funds before they withdraw and hoping more sales come in to cover it? Explanation please.

I have a custom callback script for confirming votes on the game so that owners can offer an incentive for voting. The script works pretty much the same as Apex Web Gaming's incentive system. 1) The game owner puts their own variable in the voting link (http://www.besttextgames.com/vote.php?game=[GAME_ID]&player_id=[PLAYER_ID]) where [Game_ID] is the id # of the game on BTG, and player_id is the unique variable (they can call it whatever they want). 2) Once the player votes, the system instantly calls back to the game's incentive URL after inserting the "player_id" variable into the URL. This allows the game owners to handle incentives however their heart desires. A sample incentive script is provided to game owners signed up on the site to get them started. The revenue stream does leave some to be desired. I have had multiple inquiries for advertising over the past year, but only fulfilled one or two here and there, unfortunately my inactivity with the site hurt me as far as revenue goes. So I am sorry to say I don't have anything to show as far as revenue is concerned, although I would consider that more of a result of my inactivity than the demand for advertising. I believe that with an active approach in finding advertisers a decent revenue stream could be created.

Currently 117 games listed. 537 registered users (how many of them are legit I don't know)

As you can see 2013 has been a slow year compared to 2012. This is because I was unable to be as active on the site this year as I was in the past; one reason I am considering selling. I know that the traffic can be picked back up by talking to game owners and getting new games added to the site. There is still a steady flow of game submissions coming in to the site. - - - Updated - - - Yes it is built with WordPress and the ClassiPress premium theme. I realize that this will probably be a turn off to some.
