Thanks though - as annoying it may be - but it would give a much more professional look to wherever it maybe used :) OP UPDATED.

Thanks Dave :) I honestly didn't see that, and i can assure you it wasn't rushed. Thanks for spotting that out - ill sort it out as soon as possible and thanks again :)

Hey, Below is an example - in .jpg format (at the moment) - of a medal/achievement design i came up with today. Thinking of the community, i thought i would show you and release them for you to freely use on your game/website... I have attached the png to allow users to freely edit the medal - they are grouped several times so you would need to ungroup all layers to change colours or anything else, using (Ctrl+Shift+G -> Fireworks). You may add, change, delete from the free medal pack 1 - and add your icons wherever suits you :) Enjoy... Thanks, comments and feedback please... PLEASE NOTE: A new download image is available with an equal shield (as Dave has pointed out below in the comments - this is the fixed one -> medalsmwgv.png (123.7KB)) - and as an additional apology i will create and release a number of free icons too for you to use :) Also, as these where drawn freehand off a square shape, i had to flatten all the shield layers to slice it in half, copy/paste - flip and place. So if you would like to change any colouring please download medalsedit.png (94.9KB), change and repeat the process which has just been mentioned - i apologize for any inconvenience - although, if you PM me i will do this for you (Just send me the hex colours your wanted to which bit of the shield).

Not sure if this topic is out of date or been completed, but if you still need one - ill be happy to help you out :)

Ok thanks Kieran-R :)// @Mystical, yea true but this way (imo) is a little more creative as you get to decide how the effect goes rather than relying on a brush tool. Although your suggestion may work better, my personal preference lies with the illustrator version so i thought i would share with the community - but you have a valid point :)
-
I found it by mistake - probably not the best solution to creating a blood splatter but im my eyes its gives the visual effect needed to put across the image well enough :)

So, a few days ago i posted up some mascot designs - http://makewebgames.io/showthread.php/40074-Character-Mascot-Drawings - so the community could get a feel for my art. However, they didn't really meet the requirements of the community, so i set out - using the same program and tools - to create something that maybe beneficial for all of you. The secret to this is very simple - all you need is adobe illustrator and 5 minutes spare...adobe fireworks is optional (but i used it) - I also used a graphics tablet - but its entirely up to you as a simple laptop/computer mouse will suffice. It doesn't really matter at this stage if nothing is neat - remember a real life blood splatter isn't perfect... Create a very bizarre pattern - this can be a simple word or simply a random line or bunch of lines then add an effect from the paintbrush artistic ink section - transports to fireworks (or your chosen colouring program and boom - you have a simple yet effective blood effect) - add different layers and shades of red to give it a realistic feel to it and this is what you can create (File attached - .JPG, To get the .png for ease of editing and free will of use please IM me as i am having difficulty storing the full png on imgur or uploading it via the upload link in mwg.) Feedback and comments please...

Yea i would agree with Peter, somewhere around that price would suffice. Thanks.
-
I could be bias towards the price - what do you think its worth?
-
Thanks Sim! :) & To be honest, im not sure - what do you reckon is reasonable..?
-
Its fine, your points valid - i know what you mean - but after all i wasn't drawing to a theme...

Hey, as you all may well know - i've been a member of the forum for quite some time - but recently been very inactive. I do apologize, however i am trying to get on as much as i can. Recently, i have been working on mascot drawings using Adobe Illustrator, so would like to share two of my characters - these are my first two drawings to this concept of drawing... [File Attached] - Will upload if requested... So please, i need your feedback (good or bad) and throw about some idea's. Thanks, Spydre452.

Ah okay thanks for your replies regarding a video-editing laptop. I'd rather a laptop because on the weekends ill go to my mums house and it's nice to take it with me - but i suppose its 2 days out the 7 which i could manage without it. Thank you a_bertrand for your detailed response also ;) And Djk thank you too. Is there a laptop out there that specalize in video editing, or is it mainly desktops? The other reason why i tend to focus on laptops is because we've recently downgraded in the size of house and i now have to share a room with Sniko, which lacks in space - and a laptop would be most ideal. If i were to do video editing, ill mainly focus on 2minute - 5/6minute Modern Warfare 2 gameplay edits. With the time scale in mind, sorry, would a laptop do the job and in reasonable time (Laptop wont lagg, Hold alot of my work including school work which i may hold on there, and still run fast) Im not too fussed on the price - unless its rediculous and reaches the £1,000 mark - but im looking for a laptop (preferably) which has the spec's well worth the money. I would be doing the research into it myself but honestly i have no idea on laptop specs. Sorry :/ One other thing, sorry, was the Acer one any good or not? Once again, thank you for those who have replied ;) Spydre452

Okay thank you for your comments & support. I currently have a Dell Inspirion 15"6 Laptop (Or something along those lines) Some people have suggested i do both video editing and web development but i've had a 'slight' test run with a Dazzle capture card & Pinnacle Trial and my laptop wouln't configure with both. So now, sorry for all the asking im doing, i again ask for some help from the MWG community to provide me with some trustworthy, reliable and safe links to brilliant laptops that could help me with Pinnacle, Adobe AfterFX, Song Vegas and Dazzle Platinum devices/programs. The laptop must have good Specs and a 4gb Ram. My maximum price range is idealy £400, but prehaps i could push to £500/£600. - Again, although its alittle over my price range, would this following laptop reach my needs (sorry im no good with computer parts/computers & hardware) http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/13346238/Acer-Aspire-5740-334G32Bn-Core-i3-330M-2-13GHz-4GB-320GB-Blu-ray-BD-ROM-Combo-15-6-inch-Windows-7-Home-Premium-64-Bit-Laptop-Noteboo/Product.html?_%24ja=tsid:11518%7Ccc:%7Cprd:13346238%7Ccat:Computers Thanks again MWG, Spydre452.

Hey MWG Community, I've been thinking over the past few days about me being involved with Web development, and if it's actually for me. I know I've been web dev'ing for a while but I'm in my aLevel year and wondering if i still should carry on with web development. I'm currently studying Psychology, Computing, Business & Media Studies at 6th Form. However, if i broke away from web development, i wouldn't just be bumming around, i would possibly take myself into the 'world' of video editing for xbox 360 games such as Modern Warfare 2. Im a gamer myself and ive had alot of experience in graphic design, now then i stopped working on graphics and started a project called Strike Rangers. This particular project involved several languages which i couldn't completely handle by myself and im always asking for help from Sniko and other various people (thank you ;) i appreciate the help) due to school work and another upsetting event that happened in my life not too long ago - which i don't wish to share. So im asking you for your comments on my current situation, at the moment im inbetween video editing and web development but im not sure which one to "drop" and which one to put my full attention too (taking into account school work ect) I havn't yet produced any video art work because of the fustration im having with developing StrikeRangers &/or school work - it's hard for me to understand whats causing the frustration. But if i were to 'drop' web development and go into Video Editing, ill still come here and show ya'll my youtube channel and work (this will still involve graphics, but only youtube backgrounds) So please, i need your honest comments about this and everything you say will be greatly appreciated. Alternatively, if you don't wish you share your comments here for whatever reason, please pm me or message me via msn. Thank you, Spydre452.

Wow very nice on your last 2. Id personally focus on your last one; http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii80/srachit/?action=view¤t=medieval2-1.png if i were you. Firstly, as Dave was pointing out about your text - i see it's an olden day warrior template - so go with a font that looks old but royal (as it has my lord ect in the content), some font that high letters, curles and a range of line thickness - this, i think, would brig out a better note to your template. Your font should be consistent throughout your template (this shows professionlim, consitent house style and will help identify your game) Also, after you have successfully accomplished that, i would focus on your input box's, after all thats what all you users will be using - guarnteed. Now back to the design side of things - i wouldnt beas harsh on your drop shadowing - try and turn down your drop shadow opacity and prehaps try lighter colours than black but still chose colours that hold a decency of black - after all it is a shadow. When you are doing your drop shadowing - think about the design if it was in the real life and you were the bird above it - make sure it has a good drop angle and the dark it is the more the object is "floating" above the layer below it - if you catch my drift. Thanks - and i hope you take in account not just my feedback, but everone else's, this template has a lot of potiential! Keeep with it, Spydre452

Ah quite decent - reminds me a little of one of Dave's desgins - but nevertheless well done :) All i would say it for you to try and improve on your login submit button as it looks a little odd, it's still rather good though :) Keep with it.

Ah thanks Dayo for your contribution x] Much appreciated!
