    Browser Sandbox

Have you tested it? Is it accurate? Prefer to ask before installing extra plugins... Cost nothing :)
  3. sorry for haven't tried you game yet, just want to report a major design issue in 1024x768 (which still the most used resolution with more than 30-35% of players) : Your background hasn't been coded as a background and people need directly to use horizontal scrollbar (just try and you'll see the issue).
  4. You need to fight game's characters and other players for experience in order to level up and reach extra achievments. No email is needed to play our game. Story background: Year 2054, the whole town is under dictatorship pressure from CCE (Crismos Cybertech Enterprise) and life just getting harder each day. You are part of the resistance and need to try to free the city. Screenshots: The city map used as menu... The "Home" page where you can train your skills and handle equipment... Features list: - 51 characters levels & Infinite remort system - 9 areas with more than 300 opponents - Tutorials to learn without hassle - Multiplayer engine : fight other players too - Biomechanical equipment & weapons - Auctions & trade system for rare items - Clans & banks : Bank your cash to protect it - Clan's message system - Smart fight engine : Balance really matter - Toplists and loads of statistics CitySlaves will still evolve and we're working hard on graphics and animations enhancements.
  5. hehe great posts, exactly same story here : Seems that no matter the tutorial a % want to play right away and skip the learning curve at all : I'm quite sure it's due to all those boiler made games everywhere, "you see a screenshot and you know yet how to play those games"... RPGs are going same way and original games with new ideas will suffer from this :cursing:
  6. Hi, wondering your experience with your own game and players who pay for items, subscriptions, services... I see huge games like Evony are offering big newbies packages with special offers before 7 days so I bet games having a good ROI must make profit from newcomers as from long terms players, is that right? I bet effective games are making 30% of their profit from newcomers (less than one week) then 70% from long term players (more than one month or even more), but it's really only a feeling so your point of vue would be greatly appreciated if you have any comment or idea
  7. Hi, thanks a lot for your point of vue, all comments will help us for sure so just shoot :) I'm not sure to understand what you are talking about when talking about detailed backgrounds... You mean that background does not match at all with our dark grey used for game's table?
  8. Enhanced graphics and tutorial, if someone could try or retry, thanks for feedbacks  We need to higher the % of new players hitting level 2 at least, working hard on that
  9. sure I understand the fact game must fit newbies as experienced players... My question isn't really about the game itself but more about marketing & efficiency in term of long term players & money. Another example & question : If you could buy 1000 experienced players who will click on your site logo from another site or 1000 newbies clicking same logo (for the same overall price) : which ones would you target? My point is newbies are most likely to like the game as they don't play others ok but they will too often quit because they don't know at all how to play a game and that no matter the tutorial you would offer... At least experienced players will pass through learning curve easely.
  10. no, I'm using my own code, just php or as it's right it's easy to code at least a kind of clipart/photoshop database of faces and layers to let the user chose eyes, hair colors and so on... Not that easy to find and I have no designer so far to handle such task
  11. I see, thanks for your points, newbies won for now :) So you think it's quite stupid to try to make banners to trigger experienced players to my game in order to have a higher % of pass through for tutorials & more complex parts of the game?
  12. yes sorry that's what I was looking for : A bundle with images+script
  13. yes attracting both would be great for sure... A live example : I've seen a banner (bad I don't remember the website now) with a RPG and the words "Very difficult RPG" : Ithought that was a marketing tip to filter traffic and pay only for clicks from players who know how to play... Same idea would be use "An easy to play RPG" to attract on the opposite newbies. 2 different ways, wondering which would work best :?:
  14. I need to add : The question is at "banner step" before the player would click on banner... It makes sense an active player (let's say playing since more than one week) will stay on site longer if he/she does not know other games & discover something unique. (updating first post)
  15. Hi, wondering if it is possible to find a customization script to handle avatars (just visage)? :?: (Would be best with php)
  16. Hi, wondering which is the best traffic in terms of players & money (2 different points perhaps) : 1) The players who've never tried a browser game and discover something unique for them 2) The experienced players who will understand the game faster but play other games too I bet category 2 will pass through tutorials & learn how to play much easier but could drop the game as fast afterward... Hard math :cursing: Edit : I need to add : The question is at "banner step" before the player would click on banner... It makes sense an active player (let's say playing since more than one week) will stay on site longer if he/she does not know other games & discover something unique.
  17. I ask for just a nickname & password to be able to play (no email) so I don't think it's a fair deal to pay per signup for me... And after testing many different sources I realize many does not provide enough traffic, is that system able to really perform hundred signups per day on browser games?
  18. yes I see your point The article on queen of evony is a strange one too... I will keep an eye on the issue of those lawsuits, interesting :)
  19. I won't follow you on that... Even if I agree with part of the arguments in those articles I see really bad words too... Quote : “Would you trust a Chinese gold farmer inside your computer?” “Exactly what you would expect of a Chinese gold farmer.” ( from http://www.bruceongames.com/2009/07/15/more-about-evony/ ) ..... :cursing: Basically I will never trust someone writing an article with such lines, no objectivy... Behind that he could be right on many points that's another story :)
  20. I've registered to try but saying invalid login and got no confirmation email...
  21. Hi, wondering if someone has recently tested mochimedia ingame advertising? Mochi games has grown a lot recently and even if it's expensive (15 cents for US/UK clicks) and flash games only is it something that could work for multiplayers browser games? What's the expected volume? ($100 is their minimum, not cheap for a test which will trigger bad results...)
  22. no it's a fully home made script
  23. Aye sorry to bump another old thread (second time :cursing: ) but it seems that game is now dead : It's often much more interesting to know why something hasn't worked than reading success stories... Wondering if the creator or someone else could forward details. (It's not to remind a bad story)
  24. Hi, sorry to bump such an old thread but it's a very good one and would be great to update and share experiences :) You're saying "Excluded ad sites that only have flash game sites as publishers." but I see ad2games listed and there is (perhaps has it changed?) 95% flash games websites in their publisher list (with bad traffic for browser games so far due to my test even if those are a few clicks for now). Does it mean advertising spots could change from good to bad in just a few months or perhaps have you promoted a website doing good with flash games traffic anyway (as you state ad2games traffic is good)? I can't say much more about other systems yet, don't want to post without sufficient hits :)
  25. Experienced a power outage on hosting side... if someone else would like to review website thanks for that it's working now and could help us :)
