It was built from the ground up with aid and bolt ons from myself and scripts I slashed together. Long story short, it was going well until I started college, secured a job and then arrived at University. Now I have found some free time and the will to redevelop it. I was developing my own OOP framework at one stage, but it was taking far too long. And I didn't have the time. Feel free to take a look at what I wacked together on the dev site. So, to speed up the process I brought NWE. Redesigning a few of my games features and the new ones I created in the years well I kept saying to myself "Must develop SoulQuest" to work within the modular/procedural framework.
