  1. Haha don't worry, I was honestly just kidding. I haven't heard anyone talking about ya. Although from your replies I can tell that you're one of the more helpful/mature/intelligent members of the board. Keep up the good Faz`, Faz` ;) lol
  2. Thanks guys you have really shed some light on the subject for me. However, how about when using something like INT(4) for 1000? Assuming I am correct in thinking that with INT(4) you can have from -9999 to 9999? What would be the difference then in using INT(4) or MEDIUMINT(4)?
  3. I'm asking what the real difference is though. If a number stored in a field is 1000, is it going to take up more space as INT(11) or MEDIUMINT, wouldn't the amount of memory depend on the size of the number? For example 10 should take less memory than 1000 even if they are both INT(11) or both MEDIUMINT. Catch my drift?
  4. I was actually considering a feature something like this when developing the mod, but thought it would be too much. Perhaps I was mistaken xD My idea was a "Contests" creation menu similar to the Goals, where you would select the money/crystal/item reward, and then set the amount of tags needed to win the contest. I didn't think about making it have runner-ups though, I like that. I can just make an option for how many runner-ups you want to have, and then you choose a reward for each. The runner-ups would be chosen when the 1st player reaches the goal and then the contest ends. So similar, but no time period selection.
  5. Oh, I've heard aaalllll about you Mr. Faz
  6. Why that's an excellent idea. Perhaps when I get the time I will contribute to the growth of this engine in some manner :) I don't care what they say about you Faz, you're alright by me ;)
  7. Believe me Im well aware of the herd of children that use mccodes and dont know what theyre doing...however, those of us that actually have a clue about programming would surely spend 5-10 dollars on a mod that could potentially save them hours of work..even 1 hour saved would be worth it for those of you charging $20+/hr would it not? Either way though, I dont think I will be making any mods for this engine, besides the one small one I already made.
  8. Boosh! Yeah its a word. I don't recall anyone saying it was hard to understand?
  9. Yeeeeeeah I think I was gone (from MWG) for about 4 or 5 years. They always come running back ;) If you already have Zero's dogtags mod, don't write mine off just yet. It functions completely differently, there is no "dogtag points" or point shops. It simply credits a reward, like an achievement of sorts, after the player collects X amount of "tags". So if you already have "DogTags", you can easily change what my "tags" are called to suit your game, and give players yet another reason to love your battle system. Heck you can make it "Kidnapping Grandmas" instead of "Dog Tags". When I make a mod these days I focus as much as I can on flexibility and customization. If you can think of anything else that could be added to this mod please feel free to let me know. I would really like to improve on my current creations as much as I like creating new ones :)
  10. My phpMyAdmin defaults INT to 11. When does it start to matter what field type you use? (besides for the length of the values) I've been under the impression that its more the value being stored than the field type. Would INT(11) really be any slower than mediumint when the values aren't astronomical numbers? Furtnermore, when the values aren't going to be that long, is there really even a difference when it comes to INT(10) and INT(11)?
  11. I'm curious as to who the owner is. I'd like to pester him until he adds his game to BTG :) lol
  12. Hoorah for the 1min cron xD
  13. Ignoring his utterly horrible, and incorrect instructions on the process...can someone please explain to me how using a meta refresh is a viable alternative to cron jobs?
  14. As SamZ pointed out, my price is 1/3 the price of Zero's mod. I am also around to provide support and updates for my mod. With my mod there are no unique dog tags, or dogtag points, or a hall of fame (although I like the HOF idea and will probably add that to mine in some way or another) Its more of an acheivement type system for the attacking. You can decide how frequently players can get dogtags from another player through the staff functions. Take a look at the staff screenshot for a moment. Notice the frequency options: If the frequency is set to no restrictions, Player A can take a tag from Player B as many times as they want. If the frequency is set to "Once per player", then Player A can only take one dogtag from Player B, ever. The once per X hours/minutes options are self explanatory. Now take a look at the goals section at the bottom of the staff page, this enables you to set "Goals" for players to reach. Once they obtain the required amount (set by you) they receive an event and are automatically credited with the reward you set. Using the frequency settings you can decide how hard it is to reach those goals. This part alone gives players something to strive for. You can use the mod for seasonal contests (hence the on/off switch), or make a whole plethora of goals and use it as a sort of Achievements system for your attack system. Id be willing to bet that your players will love this feature. Oh yeah and you can change them from dog tags. If you want the players to take "Scalps" instead, simply change the language settings. I've done my best to make this mod as customizable as possible without messing about in the code. If anyone has any suggestions that theyd like to see in future updates of the mod let me know. I do have a couple things planned so far. 1) A page that shows players the goals they need to meet and the rewards for said goals (that can be turned on/off like the mod. 2) Hall of Fame for dog tags taken
  15. It really is quite nostalgic :P   Yes...you all desperately need a dogtags mod for your game!
  16. Don't even care enough to ask if you care.
  17. Didn't see that Cronus had already posted, however I am sure my redundant post still contributes much more value to this thread than you unnecessarily pointing it out. Thanks for the bump though.
  18. What exactly is the point of this?
  19. If you're serious about running a game you shouldn't be on a free host...as soon as it starts getting players and using bandwidth your host is going to suspend your account. As for Crons 9 times out of 10 you are best off going with Pseudo-crons (timestamp system). The only reason it would be buggy is if you don't know what you're doing.
  20. I am considering creating some paid modules for this engine, but I haven't got any idea what the market is for ezRPG modules, or if there even is one... Sooo....is anyone using this engine for a live game? About how many games are running the ezRPG engine? Last question, to those of you that are using the engine...Would you be interested in purchasing modules for your game?
  21. You can now purchase this mod and receive it instantly through MCCodeMods.com http://www.mccodemods.com/mods.php?ID=73
  22. Not a problem, let me know how it goes.
  23. My love for Zombies may make me a little biased, but I must say Rising Grave is one of the more impressive projects I've seen through these boards, regardless of the engine. On that note I would LOVE to see this game added to my list of text based games ;)
  24. If I had a nickel... I hate to be the one to break it to you, but it takes a lot more than hope to make a game amazing. A lot lot more...
