What about using information, pictures or logos for... well.. lets just say a car for example.

I like it but I think you'd be better off starting with a lot less forum categories. They're all great category ideas but having so many inactive makes the forum feel dead when it seems to have a fair amount of posts lately.

Sent him an email but he never got back to me.

I agree with what you said about having a budget for a coder. I wasn't talking about having a budget for the programming. You absolutely need to do that yourself and assume that you'll have a good $3,000+ worth of your own time in the development process. But it does cost a lot to do the initial advertising blitz and have a good design made.

My view is that you'll need to spend upwards of a thousand on design work and tons of time just figuring out how to do it differently. I would suggest finding something that nobody has done before because you won't be up against hundreds of similar games. I'd say avoid sports, crime, racing, fantasy and space themed games. It's just too competitive for someone to compete without a big budget.

Looks good!

I know this is sort of off topic but what would be a good average page loading time for an online game?

The rich should pay more taxes. Business owners are extremely important and any tax increases should be made to not harm their businesses. But it is FAR too easy to take money out of a company. I say lower the tax rate on corporations and give business owners a reason to stick their money back into the future of the company rather than spend it on themselves. I think you'd see more investment and job growth if a tax policy like that were enacted in the USA.

I forgot to mention that it is all coded and I have a custom content management system for the gaming site.

I'm not going to use ivowebdevelopment.com. I've switched to ivodev.com

I've added some more stuff to the site and changed the domain... http://www.ivodev.com/

So I have all of these designs from an old project that never actually came to fruition. I have PSDs, HTML and I still have a copy of the integrated vbulletin forum design (somewhere lol). What do you think this stuff would be worth? I doubt I'd sell if it isn't worth a lot. I also have the logo but I wouldn't want to sell that.

Wow, ivodev.com is available. Sounds good! I decided to go with ivowebdevelopment because some of the others would have been odd sounding. Since my business comes mainly through word of mouth and sales calls through my job I don't think the domain matters so much. I bought ivodev.com but it's still being transferred to me from one of those $1 domain sites... ;)

Hey guys! So I've decided to create a website for my website development business and I was wondering if you could give me some advice on the design. I think it's too simplistic and there is too much attention drawn to the logo. I plan on adding a slogan and contact information on the right side of the header. http://www.ivowebdevelopment.com/

This forum really does need something like this. I've been nervous as hell about hiring anyone from this forum. Thanks! :)

Yeah, my plan has been to have some sort of a preview thing over there but I'm not going to work on that until I get to the design phase.

Right side of what?

The problem is the masses of 14 year old kids out there that want to make GTA online. But the thing is that the people who play those games don't spend much money. You're much better off having only 100 active users or so but having them be 30-60 years old with money. So find a way to reach them with your game.

http://www.constructionsim.com/ The design you see is just for development purposes and this whole site is just there to help explain what I'm looking for. I have a lot more down on paper so I've been slowly adding more areas of the site. The plan is to make a hunting game that will allow basically unlimited playability. Let me know what you think of the idea.

The most effective use of in-game advertising that I have seen has been advertisements for that game's premium features. The best way to go, at least for my game, is to offer a free game but include features, and special areas only attainable through spending money.

How much traffic is required to make a game that relies solely on advertising for revenue and makes a decent profit? I'm not going this route because I haven't seen it work very well in the past. I am wondering if any of you know of a good model to study?
-
You could probably even have an actual web development company design and implement a design for that much... ;)
-
supremehunter.com? I just can't think of one that is short enough for my tastes.

Do you think I should go with Huntsim.com or Huntingsim.com? I've purchased them both but I'm just wondering. I know that huntsim.com is shorter and that is generally good but I'm not sure.
