it is very dark, and there is very little overall design. I had no issue logging in.

So if I was to consider making some premades to auction or sell off, what kind of themes would you be interested in? Also what kind of budget are most of you looking to stay within?

Yes, if I decide to start committing to work again I will have to resolve that. I do have samples of previous work, but as this is not what this thread is about, and I'm not currently looking for work, I will have to make you wait on that. Sorry :)

Beautiful template , but probably very much out of this audiences league, a lot of money and/or time spent on art.

How much a design costs depends on what you are looking for, I have some projects I need to start and complete before I get into taking other jobs.. This wasnt an advert to get work, more of a general inquiry to which no one besides Djkanna has shown much of anything. I was really hoping to see some links to games people think look cool...

Correct me if Im wrong but the template in your portfolio is it there just as a place marker? looks like you took this template http://gamesitetemplates.com/vbulletin-forum-skins/vbulletin-skins-v4/blade-forum-skin-v4/prod_328.html and drew over it and added a knight you found form somewhere also...and shield. Is it just for personal use, just curious...

Oh my, I have to agree with Alain...the red is far too bright. also your header section looks lopsided the rings arent the same on either side, but arent different enough to be able to say it was on purpose. The general idea is okay, but rething how you want to do it to make it appealing to users...you do want to attract people. Look at sites you like pick them apart and remake the pieces you liked into something new and unique. Its a beginning, but not much more..but yes we all do have to start somewhere, why we ALL choose to start using bevelled text is beyond me. Yes, Im guilty but since that was about 15 years ago ...Ill pretend I didnt do it.

Id have to say community...I almost went with quests missions and such, but lets face it there are games with thousands of players that have crappy graphics, story lines, and coding... Here is the punch tho...you have to have something to draw that community to begin with. I can remember 6 years ago working on a sig designing site and having someone come in to request a signature for a text based game. I thought to myself why the heck would anyone ever want to play such a thing? Being a very curious person by nature, I registered to the game looked around and was bored within a few hours, but then I decided to browse the forums. Now the forums peaked my interest , but my real downfall was that first time I joined mIRC...5 years later I still log into that game from time to time to visit. I spent a good year of my life volunteering as staff on that game. I found people I enjoyed being around...and that is the only reason I can give you for why.

You went to university for graphics design and this is what you have learned?? I guess for the price, its okay... Sorry if I offend anyone, but I really dont feel this is university level graduate design work.

I designed the login page and a header for rapslife...I have all my psd's around here somewhere ...   Uhm yea my site may no longer exist I need to get my own server ...it was hosted on one of Nyna's ...and tbh I rarely am online of late so I didnt even notice when it stopped loading.   If someone wants to contact me for designs info they can do so via [email protected]   I have examples of my work for those interested.

They are Keith Garvey tubes that can be purchased via mypsptubes.com ...most will come as psd's ...Im not sure what the copyright for use in a game is like for them...would have to look up how that works...   If you gusy want to buy good vectored art any stock image site should have stuff for sale istock is one I use alot...

mostly you need a good artist...on that scale you probably want to look for someone into pixel art.

Its a basic map with animated gifs overlayed for certain actions...and they would be created from scratch ...as in handdrawn and animated...

Definetely no ASAP ...LOL   Tutorials, tutorials and more tutorials after 10 years I can safely say Ive barely scratched the surface...some natural ability always helps too.

Re: GFX   It does look a bit odd though.... :lol: But I will give your idea a shot. And....Scarlet, I thought you'd left CE? :?   I did if you look at the post for time online you will see my old account as undefined ....but I reregged when ownership changed hands...as my old ava said "im always watching" What I dont understand is why so many people use the graphics advertising section as a showroom for graphics instead of the section that was actually created for it... :roll:

Re: GFX Dont crop it...the border is like that because its set on overlay or some other low opacity blending mode. Simply select the whole image since it merged... go into edit and add a border of 1 px plain black over top...if you want to hide it. Personally to me it fine as it is...that used to be a style used alot on borders. :wink:
